Waxed cotton, cast brass, wool felt. That's the list.

The webbing is 18 oz cotton, woven in the US and waxed after weaving so the paraffin sits through the full weave. Water beads off. Mud dries and cracks off. The strap breaks in like a boot and darkens where the dog wears it.

The hardware is cast solid brass, tumbled for 6 hours, never plated. It dents instead of snapping and takes a patina by month 3. Every load point is box-stitched with bonded polyester thread and tested to 400 lb of pull.

The felt is 3 to 5 mm wool, used anywhere gear touches thin coat. It compresses to the dog in about a week.

CARE

Rinse. Hang. Re-wax.

Rinse with plain water, hang dry, re-wax once a year. Rub the wax tin along the strap, warm it with a hair dryer for 30 seconds, and hang it overnight. A wax tin ships free with any collar order over $75.
